Through our hotels, Seaside Collection aims to contribute to the economic and social development of the respective communities. This commitment includes collaborating with local producers. In this regard, our head chef at the Grand Hotel Residencia, Wolfgang Grobauer, was awarded as the first ambassador of the Pozo Izquierdo salt mines. For years, he has been using this special salt in the kitchen. For Seaside Collection, tourism in the respective regions only thrives through mutual growth and supporting local tourism associations.

Sustainability
Luxury hospitality and sustainability were once considered incompatible. Today, they seem to go hand in hand. For Seaside Collection, sustainability was already a concern when the term did not even exist. As a family-owned business, we think with a responsibility for future generations. This, for us, is also sustainability—but, of course, not only that. In each of our properties, we strive to make the highest possible contribution to environmental preservation. For example, in our Maldives resort FINOLHU, we have water treatment facilities, avoid plastic, and recycle organic waste in a technically sophisticated composter.

Social Engagement
Seaside Collection does not make political donations. We exclusively financially support local nonprofit institutions, such as the Randstad Foundation, which advocates for engaging people with disabilities in the job market. Additionally, we enable the “Down Syndrome Association of Las Palmas” to introduce young apprentices to the activities of a hotel. Purchasing local products is not only an aspect of sustainability for us, but also of social engagement.
